A 20-years visa for Thailand, now is this possible?

Such a sesame will exist thanks to… the real estate business  and especially condominiums. A condominium development company discussed with the Thai authorities to introduce for the first time in Thailand a 20-year visa for foreigners… who purchase a condo !

Well, yes, it’s not for everyone. This is business. And with this argument no doubt that the number of farangs purchasing condominiums will be boosted. Even if for now it is only a trial.

Currently the offer is only valid for foreigners purchasing a condo in Southpoint in Pattaya, but it could be extended to other development projects if the operation is successful. And it is likely to be.

This “super visa” will allow its holders to have other benefits such as accelerated immigration procedures, assistance for driving license, discounts and a bilingual help desk.

The company Kingdom Properties has joined forces with Thailand Elite to create this unique offer. The 20 years visa is in fact a 5-years multiple entries visa which is renewable 3 times so you can stay in Thailand for up to 20 years.

But who is Thailand Elite?

This is an organization that works on improving and increasing foreign investment in Thailand and is owned by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) under the direct control of the Thai government. Therefore, the offer is serious, reliable and is a test balloon to perhaps expand it to other real estate projects. But of course, you lose your 20-years visa if you sell the condo.

Southpoint Pattaya is in two towers with 65 units in Jomtien 30 m² to 97 m². The construction of the condo will be completed during the second quarter of 2016.

In Thailand, condominiums, if they meet the 49% sold to foreigners and 51% sold to THai people rule are the only way for a foreigner to to own a place.

So if you want a 20-years visa and all the privileges coming with it, you know that you have to do…
