Hat Chao Mai National Park closed for 4 months
During low tourist season in Thailand, the authorities decided in recent years to close public access to several marine national parks to allow the ecosystem to recover.
After closing the Similian Islands and Surin Island until Ocotober 15, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation announced a temporary closure of Hat Chao Mai National Park.
The closure of four months is held every year between 1 June and 30 September.
During this period, visitors are denied access to the islands and sites within the park such as Koh Mook, Morakot Cave, Koh Kradan, Koh and Koh Waen Chueak.
The ban is intended to allow the park to recover from the influx of tourists and its ecological consequences and ensure the safety of visitors during the monsoon season between June and September.
The park will reopen on October 1st.
Hat Chao Mai National Park is on the west coast of southern Thailand. The park covers land and sea areas of 230 square kilometers. It is one of the most popular attractions in the province of Trang with its unspoiled natural beauty.
