A week after a big PDRC walk asking for reform before election, the Red Shirts will rally not far from Bangkok on Saturday. The organizers hope to raise more than 200,000 people.

The rally will take place on Saturday on Aksa Road in Phuthamonthon area in the suburbs of Bangkok. “At least 200,000 people from the northeastern provinces will travel to Aksa Road this Saturday. Each province will send  300 to 400 security guards and medical personnel to look after the red-shirt supporters’ safety and well-being” said Anuwat Tinarat, core member of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD). Its goal is to bring more people than the number of anti -government protesters currently occupying Lumphini park.  He wants to show that they are a minority.

He also does not believe the announcement of PDRC leader, Suthep Thaugsuban , saying that the government will be overthrown before the Songkran festival ( April 13 – 16). It is true that he had repeatedly made similar calls and the government is still there. The Thavil case (see article) could change the deal…
