A day of protest in Bangkok

While the Democrats announced its decision to boycott early elections scheduled for February 2, government opponents have planned a big day of action this Sunday in Bangkok. They expect 2-to 3 millions people, a figure which seems very optimistic.

Protest in Bangkok Thailand

It is in this context that will start a new day of action in Bangkok on this Sunday. A way to revive a movement that was slowly decreasing. Five additional rally sites were set up last night at Victory Monument, Siam Square, Asok intersection, Lumpini Park and Ratchaprasong intersection. And some other smaller ones on ten main roads. A rally in front of the residence of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in Soi Yothin Pattana 3 is also planned at 9 am this Sunday.

So there will big trafic jams in Bangkok today. More than usual . Although the Tourist Authority of Thailand states that all the tourist attractions of the capital will be accessible and open and just recommend to travelers who have to take a plane to add an extra hour to the time they plan to take to get to the airport because of trafic congestion but we recommend you to use Airport Link. Today rallies are expected to be peaceful but it is still better to avoid as much as possible ther demonstrating areas.

No inconvenience other than temporary access to Wat Benchamaphobit and larger trafic jams in Bangkok complicated the stay of tourists in Thailand since the beginning of the anti- government movement and there is no reason that it changes.
